Videomanagement with PSItraffic/VMS
Our system platform PSItraffic/VMS was expanded to include video management. Video management can be used as an integrated solution within our system platform for railway applications as well as independently for other types of applications. To offer high-quality software for this segment, we have selected a competent partner with a solid, mature system for video management which is already in use in numerous applications around the world.
General Functions
The VMS supports multicast, which reduces the amount of traffic on the network. The system can manage up to 20,000 video streams.
The VMS has a client/server architecture, is based on the TCP/IP protocol and is independent of the transmitting medium. It also supports the IEEE 802.11 standard.
- Manual switching and storing of camera signals
- Automatic, cyclic switching and storing of camera signals
- Automatic, event-controlled switching and storing of camera signals (e.g. external sensors, interface to third-party systems, image recognition software, etc.)
- Remote control of controllable cameras with domes and pan/tilt heads
- Integrated watchdog to monitor the function status of all cameras

Compatible Cameras
All types of cameras can be integrated into the video management system.
Analogue cameras are connected via an encoder. The encoder has an RS-485 interface for controlling domes and pan/tilt heads.
A network camera is connected directly to a switch/hub. All existing TCP/IP-based network cameras can usually be integrated into the system.
The video management system offers interfaces for analogue fixed cameras, IP cameras, megapixel cameras and 360-degree panoramic cameras from leading manufacturers, such as Funkwerk Plettac, Siemens, Bosch, Panasonic, Samsung, MOBOTIX and IPIX.
