S-Bahn Berlin
As part of the expansion of VMZ Berlin (Berlin Traffic Management Center), PSI Transcom connected the urban rail operator, S-Bahn Berlin, one of the most important transport carriers in all of Berlin, with VMZ. In addition to a more extensive interlinking of S-Bahn Berlin and BVG (Berlin public transport operator) with VMZ, it was necessary to apply the VDV 453 Version 2 interface, which was developed and adopted as a standard and which enables the cross-operator, fully-automatic exchange of a wide variety of services. This interface can be used to visualize the current position of S-Bahn vehicles and to exchange messages for the information service. The internal and external information flows of S-Bahn Berlin were optimized and simplified.
