Control Center

The control center is the core of the passenger information system by PSI Transcom. The control center controls displays and processes feedback signals from process peripherals, as well as entries made by control center personnel. The data to be displayed is based on the timetable from which the passenger information system DFI automatically generates the necessary information to be displayed to control center personnel and on display units.

In a configuration which includes identification components or vehicle detectors, a clear overview of the current status of operations is continuously displayed to control center personnel. Automation is maintained by transmitting delay information to the system in electronic form. Furthermore the dispatcher can manually update and supplement the information on the displays.

As an option the system offers a parking position planning function for stations with more than one parking position. The dispatcher receives a planning proposal that is based on the current timetable status. This proposal not only takes into consideration the desire to have the same parking position for regular journeys, but also aims to keep walking distances to a minimum for passengers making transfers. The system identifies conflicts in advance and thus enables the dispatcher to take corrective measures in good time.
