PSIcomm: Simplicity in microwave link management

Innumerable types of microwave equipment and related management systems, increasing band-width demand, and the ever-faster speed of technological change - these are the key factors behind the growing complexity in operation and maintenance of microwave links in multi-vendor, multi-technology networks.

As simple as it is ingenious, the PSIcomm solution is to channel the many tasks and systems through one, integrated toolset. So instead of working with a multitude of network element managers and their multifarious commands, your staff uses one centralised apllication. Access is via a single graphical user interface, which allows diverse equipment types and functions to be controlled by standardised commands, and thanks to its uniform screen view, is much easier to become familiar with.

Open to cost-cutting, open to system needs
The benefits of PSIcomm, in terms of lower training costs, streamlined work processes and faster provisioning, are self-evident. But at the same time, PSIcomm helps you reduce expenditure on plant and software. Thus you only need one, rather than several element management systems.

Open and standard interfaces
PSIcomm'
s open, standardised interfaces also allows smooth integration into your existing environment, including integration into your umbrella system for FCAPS. PSIcomm comes with a range of standard interfaces or management protocol adapters (MPAs) to other equipment, e.g. SNMP V1 and V2, QD2 and Q3, as well as equipment-specific MPAs.

Features PSIcomm:

  • Performance management: Collection of performance data and forwarding to your umbrella performance management, e.g. Metrica
  • Fault Management: Filtering, analysis and transmisison of alarms to your umbrella fault management, including service-related alarm correlation. Integration into HP OpenView TeMIP available.
  • Capacity management: Helps your planning division with capacity and bandwidth consumption information
  • End-to-End informationen for the FCAPS model (in combination with PSIfccm)
  • Scheduling and automatic implementation of approved changes
