HERMA Awards PSI Contract for New Logistics Center

Berlin, 5 February 2003 – The PSI AG has been awarded the contract to provide a n warehouse management system for the HERMA GmbH, the specialist for self-adhesive technology. The PSI warehouse management software will be used at the Filderstadt Bonlanden site. Here a logistics center with state-of-the-art technology is being constructed that will make it possible to provide nation-wide next-day delivery.

The entire warehouse consists of a fully-automatic small parts warehouse, 14 picking stations, packaging and forwarding lines. The contract includes the areas of inventory management, transport and picking. As of the summer of 2003 the PSI software will manage the inventory and the processing in the existing rack storage system. The commencement of operations for the entire system is planned for the spring of 2004. HERMA decided in favor of the PSI solution as a result of its long years of experience in the development of systems.

For HERMA the realization of the logistics center means a leap into a new dimension with respect to delivery time, flexibility and quality; with this contract PSI reinforces its market position as one of the largest, independent providers of logistics software solutions.
