PSI has been awarded the technologically challenging contract fort the development of an agent-based IT system from ABX LOGISTICS (Deutschland) GmbH. Software agents observe processes in the operative mixed cargo lot at ABX's 33 branches where about 100,000 pieces are moved each day and reports irregularities. As a result ABX can immediately take action both internally and with respect to its customers.
The contract includes the conception and realization of the Master Activity Control Systems (MAC). MAC quickly records results in the consignment processing and generates messages which are then transmitted via e-mail, SMS, voice mail or fax. This is based on an agency platform which continuously monitors various ABX databases and evaluates their information. The system increases transparency and allows for appropriate action to be taken. MAC goes into action when time, quality or cost limits are reached in processing or handling. The MAC simultaneously provides the ABX customer with a supply chain event management.
ABX LOGISTICS decided in favor of PSI as a result of their know-how in the logistics business and their development of a tailor-made solution that is based on the PSI standard system platform for agency systems. With the combination of the latest agency technology and process know-how PSI once again underlines their technology leadership in the logistics market.
