PSI announces adjustments to subsidiary PSI UBIS Resources in Information Management segment to be bundled

Berlin, 23 February 2004 – Due to the continuing pressure on margins at the Group’s subsidiary PSI UBIS AG, the PSI Board of Management resolved to introduce a number of measures aimed at adapting PSI UBIS’s performance to current market conditions. In order to facilitate more direct management, PSI UBIS AG is to be transformed into PSI Information Management GmbH, which will remain a 100% subsidiary of PSI. The cost of the restructuring measures, which have already been completed, were included in the company’s result for 2003. Synergies in the Information Management Segment will be utilized by merging joint functions, including administration, infrastructure and applied research and development, with the Public Management division.

PSI Information Management GmbH will market the existing project lines (agent software, portals, product advisor, CRM) as product lines. The new company will utilize PSI’s control system expertise in the IT Service Company segment, thus forging a closer link with PSI Group’s core business. PSI Information Management GmbH will extend its distribution activities to include the established customer contacts of the PSI divisions, thus profiting from the Group’s unique selling points in cross-sales activities.

PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of large networks (electricity, gas, oil, telecommunications, transport), cross-company production management (steel, chemicals, machinery, automotive, logistics) and information management for government and service providers. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,200 persons in the group.
