PSI Realizes Electronic Registration Information in the Framework of the d-NRW Project New service accelerates data exchange and relieves public budgets

Berlin, 29 October 2004 – As part of the d-NRW Project, PSI has developed the electronic registration information (eMA) for North Rhine-Westphalia together with the local data centers of the communities. With the new service, which has successfully concluded its test phase, the processing time for registration information will be reduced in the future from up to six weeks down to 24 to 48 hours.

Although the registration information, with more than 7.5 million queries, is one of the most used administrative services in North Rhine-Westphalia, it is handled on an almost purely paper basis. With the new electronic service, the door is opened for communities to save money and make things easier for citizens and companies. Data protection and data security have been given the top priority so that even the State Officer for Data Protection and Freedom of Information has no qualms about introducing the system.

PSI has extensive experience from the realization of electronic registration and information services which flow into the project. Currently, an international consortium under the leadership of PSI AG is realizing the European registration information RISER, which went into pilot operations in October 2004.

PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of large networks (electricity, gas, oil, telecommunications, transport), cross-company production management (steel, chemicals, machinery, automotive, logistics) and information management for government and service providers. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,150 persons in the group.
