PSI shows AI-based transport solutions at the UITP in Stockholm

Berlin, 6 May 2019 - PSI Transcom GmbH presents from 10 to 12 June 2019 at the UITP Global Public Transport Summit in Stockholm, the AI-based depot management system PSItraffic/E-DMS (booth A5093) and the software solution Moveo profahr for the operative personnel disposition with optimization components for the assignment of duties and vacations.

For many transport companies the migration from diesel to electric buses is a major challenge. PSItraffic/E-DMS serves as the basis for reliable operation and the migration from conventional to zero-emission vehicles, delivering the best charging strategy in connection with the power limitations of the city’s electricity grid. In parallel operation, PSItraffic/E-DMS ensures that diesel buses are refueled to the required quantity and electric buses are sufficiently charged.

An integrated load and charge management predicts, controls and regulates the energy consumption, develops strategies for the existing charging infrastructure and monitors the charging performance. This saves costs for further expansion of the power grid and guarantees stable public transport operation.

PSI uses its own AI-based optimization software Qualicision, which determines the next parking space in the depot in a matter of seconds on the basis of the next required maintenance steps such as cleaning, refilling, loading and workshop. Just before the required exit, the vehicles are assigned to blocks in time and the drivers are informed accordingly. Consequently, not all electric buses must be fully charged immediately after entry but only on demand.

As part of the Expo Session "Charging Infrastructure & Systems for Electric Buses", PSI explains in detail the advantages and opportunities of the system for heterogeneous fleets.

Based on its own software products, the PSI Group develops and integrates complete solutions for optimizing the flow of energy and materials for utilities (energy networks, energy trading, public transport) and industry (mining, metals production, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics). PSI was founded in 1969 and employs more than 1.900 persons worldwide.
