PSI Solution Supports World’s Largest Mobile Communication Provider with New Services Increased security in mobile networks through tracking and blocking of mobile phones

Berlin, 8 September 2004 – As of immediately the Berlin PSI AG is supporting one of the world’s largest mobile phone providers with its software solution PSImeir in Germany with the tracking and blocking of mobile phones. PSImeir (Master Equipment Identity Register) blocks the access of stolen or unregistered mobile phones to the mobile network and supports GSM standards. Mobile phone customers will profit worldwide from this offer through increased theft protection of their mobile phones.

All access attempts in the mobile network will be registered by means of the individual device number, the so-called IMEI no. This number is registered in a central block file, the Master Equipment Identity Register (MEIR). In this way it is possible to protect the mobile phone itself from misuse by means of the IMEI number in addition to the customer’s individual data on the SIM card.

PSImeir is being jointly distributed worldwide with Siemens and is already being used in more than 10 installations in England, South Africa, Malaysia and as of immediately in Germany as well.

PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of large networks (electricity, gas, oil, telecommunications, transport), cross-company production management (steel, chemicals, machinery, automotive, logistics) and information management for government and service providers. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs 1,150 persons in the group.
