Environment-friendly bus depot
The 45,000-square metre depot in Alsterdorf is the most modern in Europe. Buses parked at six carports are supplied with compressed air and electricity when they are not on roads. The growing electric bus fleet will be filled with environment-friendly electricity at the depot, which is opposite the transformer station and links up the depot to Hamburg’s grid. The bus depot is also capable of handling hydrogen technology. Battery-run buses with fuel cells that are ready for series production can be refuelled there.
